Lothian Disability Badminton Club positively supports all people with a disability who wish to play badminton. We provide the necessary opportunities to learn new skills and improve on existing ones in a relaxed, friendly and supportive environment. Our aim is to support all players of all ages, all abilities and all disabilities in reaching their full potential through playing socially, competitively or by undertaking training in coaching themselves. By providing this positive social environment, individual and group confidence improves, encouraging a broadening of horizons and maximising potential. Badminton is great fun socially and also challenging and we encourage everyone to come and join in the fun.
The club welcomes both the social and competitive players of all ages. Some members enjoy the social side of playing while others have achieved considerable sucess at various 4 nations competitions and at international level.
The club has two geographical sections:
Musselburgh Sports Centre
Tuesday 6 pm - 7 pm for new and beginner players with additional support needs for learning and physical disabilities and then 7 pm - 9 pm for more developed players with a physical or learning disability.
Wednesday 6 pm – 8 pm for players with additional support needs for learning and physical disabilities.
The cost is £4.00 per session with the first taster session being offered free.
